Well, we had a fun morning
at our demo for the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk K-9 Crusaders. This was our
second year at this event and it was a lot of fun. My three girls did
pretty well. Shelby had a “beagle” moment and went off sniffing, but jumped
right back into things pretty quickly. This demo was in Tulsa (about 2
hours north of OKC) – so I was fortunate enough to be joined by Pam Sheehan
& Nike and Sue Young & Lizzie. Pam & Nike debuted their new heelwork
routine to Yankee Doodle and also performed their all favorite freestyle
routine to Lion King. Sue & Lizzie are just starting their new routine and
I must tell you it has a LOT of potential. They were definitely crowd
pleasers. I’m going to keep the details a secret until she’s ready to
really debut the routine… but I can tell ya – it’s gonna be a good one!
Anyway – a big thanks to
Pam and Sue for getting up so early and coming out for the demo. One very
important DEMO TIP – if you are going to do a demo in 50 degree weather at
8am in the morning… make sure you pack and extra pair of shoes and socks. A
two hour drive home with wet feet is NO fun. <vbg>
All in all it was a good
day. Again, it was just one of those events that made you feel good to be a
part of. My grandmother was affected by Alzheimer’s before she passed away,
so it’s nice to be able to help out for such a good cause.
