We had another great year at the Festival
of the Pet. The Oklahoma Freestyle Dogs would like to send a special
THANK YOU to the event organizers, Best Friends of Shelter Pets, for
allowing us to use the ring before the event each day to film for the
upcoming WCFO video competition. We all had a great time filming and
doing the demos. We have come a long way from last years demo.
Two of our teams that had were in the demo last year after only four weeks
of freestyle - were once again part of our demo this year. Both of
these teams, Becky Tilley & Keeper along with Janet Chadwick & Savannah went
onto earning their first freestyle title since last year's performance.
In addition, both Becky & Janet are now competing with new dogs - Stormy &
Savannah respectfully.
In addition to returning teams, we had two
new teams that actually started freestyle after seeing our demo last year.
Janice Allen & Molly along with Lynda SmithSchick & Iris have come a long
way and are also currently competing with their first routines. We
still tease Janice about the video we have of her watching the performance
last year, as she sat in the stands and laughed at her mom (Janet).
We also had some new teams to our demo -
Nancy Haddock and her Malamutes Nanook and Faith were able to join us in
between doing the agility demos. We were also very excited to have
Laura & Kaity Ormbsy with Jake & Maggie join us. They recently moved
from Oregon and we were excited to have them as part of our demo.
Lastly, Kris and her gang of freestyle
dogs also joined in. This was Maggie's 5 year performing at this
event, and at 17 1/2 still has a great time. Roxie and Nellie did
great routines as well, and Kris had a really fun time with Shelby's
"debut". This little beagle is showing a lot of potential. It is very
special for Roxie & Shelby to be part of these demos as they were both
rescued from groups that are supported by this organization - Pets & People
and the Oklahoma Beagle Rescue.
All in all - it was a GREAT weekend!
Thanks again to the event organizers for including us as part of their event
- we had a great time and are already looking forward to next year!
