In
their first year, St. Baldrick’s Foundation raised over $5.3 million to help
find a cure for children's cancer.
St. Baldrick’s
began with three people who wanted to make a difference, and chose to help
children with cancer. Today, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation unites thousands
of volunteers whose shared mission – to shave the way to a cure – has
captured the enthusiasm and devotion of people around the world. Over
the past six years, St. Baldrick’s has raised over $12 million for the
search for a cure.
We were very
excited to be a part of this year's St. Baldrick's Day in Oklahoma City -
next to all the people shaving off all their hair, dancing with your dog
didn't seem quite so strange.
A big thanks to
all our teams that came out today. It rained all weekend, but
all our teams still got out in the cold and rain and put on a great show.
We had two debuts at this demo - Janet Chadwick with her brace with Maggie &
Savannah along with Nancy Haddock and her new dog Scooter. In
addition, we had our veteran teams - Kris with Roxie (pug mix), Janet with
Savannah (golden), Lynda with Iris (corgi), and Kris with Shelby (beagle),
and Nancy with Nanook (malamute).
All the teams did a great job and we had a good time in spite of the
weather!
