Our handler's movement seminar was a big success. TC did an amazing job
in getting us moving and thinking about different ways that WE can add
style to our routines. She covered items such as avoiding the robot walk
(who would have thought - we have arms!), easy ways to incorporate those
arms (and corresponding signals) into our choreography, how to find the
music tempo, how to get up and down off the ground, posture, ideas for
coming our of our shell, and more. I don't think she let us sit down for
more than about 5 minutes at a time!
This was TC's first full-day seminar and we know it won't be her last.
We feel honored that we were able to host her first full-fleged workshop.
A big thank you to Loren Jensen Carter for introducing us to TC in Tucson
- luckily, we know a good thing when we see it and were able to take
advantage of it. TC is very talented and has some very unique
combination of knowledge having taught both dance and freestyle.
If you have the opportunity to attend one of her seminars or if you
have the ability to bring her to your group - we highly recommend it (see
reviews below). We do suggest that you provide a couple Aleve
tablets to each person attending! Most of us haven't moved that much in
years - but it was definitely worth every little ache we felt the next
morning!
It was a great workshop and
thanks so much for organizing it and getting TC up here. I learned a lot
and I was especially thankful that the focus was on handler skills because
it is 50% of the whole team. Between all the components of freestyle, I
spend more time training the dog, picking out music, choreography, etc.
and not enough time trying to improve my skills as the team. Just watching
TC as she reacted to each piece of music was very helpful. I REALLY needed
this seminar and would be glad to have a second session or individual
lessons if she decides to come up here a second time.
Thanks again,
Sue and Lizzie

It was an opportunity to have a
workshp of TC's quality here at home, and not have to travel. TC used
her body as an on-going visual aid, which enhanced what she was saying.
Her easy manner and sense of humor put "reserved" me more at ease to get
up and move.
Thank you, Kris, for all your
work, so we could enjoy. I appreciate the opportunity you provided
us. If she comes again, I'll go.

After today, with practice,
I'm sure it's possible for me to meet my personal goals. It was a fun
and relaxing Saturday, well spent.

Thanks again for having such a
talented person conduct the workshop. I would be interested in attending
another one is case you can talk TC into coming back.

I had a fantastic time!! I've never
felt like I had much organization to my dancing skills, but TC put
everything into a simple perspective and I'm looking forward to trying
some new moves with freestyle!
Kris, thanks for inviting TC up and
putting it all together. (along with everything else you do!!!)
